Race Waiver and Indemnity

By registering for the Friends of Karura Race Series or Anniversary Race, all participants agree to the following waiver, indemnity and code of conduct:

I acknowledge that participating in a running event is a potentially hazardous activity. I confirm that I am medically fit to participate, am in good health, and have undertaken appropriate training to take part safely.

I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation, including, but not limited to, falls, contact with other participants, spectators or vehicles, adverse weather conditions (including heat and humidity), trail and terrain conditions, wildlife, equipment failure, and any other risks inherent in participating in the event, whether known or unknown.

In consideration of my entry being accepted, I, on behalf of myself, my personal representatives, heirs and assigns, waive, release and discharge Run Beyond Limited, Team Jasho, Friends of Karura, the Kenya Forest Service, all event sponsors, and each of their respective officers, employees, volunteers, representatives and agents, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, from any claims, demands or liabilities arising from or connected with my participation in the event, including those arising from negligence, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

If I become injured or require medical assistance during the event, I authorise the organisers to obtain such medical treatment as they consider necessary. I understand that I remain responsible for any costs associated with such treatment.

I grant the organisers and event partners permission to photograph, film or otherwise record my participation and to use such material, without compensation, for legitimate promotional, editorial or other event-related purposes.

I have read, understand and agree to comply with the Code of Conduct and all instructions issued by event officials. I understand that failure to comply may result in my removal from the event without refund.

Where a participant is under the age of 18, this waiver and indemnity must be accepted by their parent or legal guardian, who confirms that they have read and accepted these terms on the participant's behalf.
