I have been running since 2012, but took it seriously when I joined Urban Swaras Running Club in 2016. I have participated in many local runs, including half-marathons and full-marathons. Internationally, I have ran 5 times at Kilimanjaro Marathon, the Mauritius Marathon, the Vancouver Marathon and the Frankfurt Marathon. My PB for the Marathon is 3.28.
Recently, I am exploring ultra distances, and crazy challenges. I participated and completed CircumMtKenya, running 378km around Mt. Kenya in 6 days. In March, for my birthday, I ran TWO 46km distances every weekend for three weekends. This month, I am running the distance of date every day.
One of my favourite runs this year was with a couple of USRC club mates for my 46th birthday, starting and finishing at Jangwani Camp in Murang’a County. Even for Urban Swaras (who are known for punishing trail runs), this one was billed as ‘very exciting’! Other than hills, and crazy descents, the other attractions are rapids on River Tana, and other features caused by erosion of the sandy soil.
