We are excited to bring you the sixth edition of the Friends of Karura Anniversary Race, celebrating the work of Kenya Forest Services and Friends of Karura in keeping Karura safe and healthy for all.
Scheduled for Sunday 29th September, the event will feature our familar family-friendly 2km, 5km, 10km, and 21k race options, followed by a celebration and Berlin Marathon watch party in Amani Gardens.
When is it? The event is scheduled to coincide with the Berlin Maration on Sunday 29th September. The races have a staggered start: 21km 8:00am, 10km 8:30am, 5km/2km 9:00am
Where is it? The event is in Karura Forest Block A, with the start and finish area in Amani Gardens
What is the entry fee? Entry is Ksh 1,200 for adults and Ksh 600 for kids (ages 19 and under)
What is included? The entry fee includes: forest entry and parking, chip timing, race medal and t-shirt, photography, and the post-race celebration/watch-party (including all food and refreshments thanks to our amazing race partners below)

Kit Collection: There will be no kit collection on race day, so you must arrange to collect your rack pack in advance from Run Beyond. An announcement will make once the packs are ready for collection
Forest Entry: Forest entry is included in the entry fee and you will need to present your race number for forest entry
By car, enter via Gate A on Limuru Road and park at Amani Gardens (overflow parking will be directed to KFEET). Pedestrians can also enter via Gate D on ICRAF Road
We advise you to allow additional time for gate access and walking to the start line
Bag Drop: If you need to drop a bag, there will be an tent available at the entrance to Amani Gardens
Route Support: Water (in paper cups) and fruit will be provided around the course at 2km-4km intervals. Please place all rubbish and in the bins provided. If you wish to carry additional water, please remember that Karura do not allow single use plastics in the forest
Results: The event is chip timed and results will be pubilshed online. Please remember to wear your race number to ensure that your time is captured!
Indemnity: By registering for the event and participating in the event, you accept our race indemnity
